Succulents

These low maintenance plants are great for busy homeowners.  They don't require much water or care and look great in any room in the house.

Kitchen Herbs

Kitchen herbs are great for cooking, but can double as a decorative piece.  Place them on your countertop or windowsill and add some to your favorite dishes!

Flowering Plants

Flowering houseplants can add a pop of color to any room.  Their beautiful blossoms are uplifting and add to the room's attractiveness.

Humidity Loving Plants

Humidity loving plants can add to your bathroom's appeal.  Needless to say, they do best in humid environments, so place them on rocks or sand to trap in the moisture and keep them vibrant year-round.

Hanging Plants

Hanging plants are a fun way to spruce up your home's decor.  Add them to window areas or screened-in porches for a special touch.

The Best Plants To Use Indoors

Here are a few of our favorite houseplants! Your local plant shop employees can help you find plants to suit your home's style and your specific needs.

Peace Lily

The Peace Lily is easy to care for and maintain and offers a simplistic look through its glossy leaves and white lily that sits above the foliage.  They like light; however, direct sunlight can be damaging to their leaves.

Cacti

Cacti come in several different shapes, colors, and sizes.  They are easy to care for and can enhance any space.

Weeping Fig

Weeping Figs are not only helpful for decorating, they also filter out hidden pollutants in common household areas such as sheets, carpets, curtains, etc.  These plants are a must have!

Snake Plant

Snake Plants are the perfect way to spice up your home.  They are vibrant, fun, and low maintenance.

How To Care For Indoor Plants

Once you have picked out the perfect plants for your home, it is important to understand how to care for them.

Repotting

The first step is to choose the right container and potting mix.  Be sure to choose a pot that is slightly bigger than the plant and has proper drainage for excess water.  An all-purpose soil is best for most plants, and a cactus mix is best for succulents as they require more drainage.

Lighting

With the colder seasons comes less hours of sunlight.  If your plant requires sunlight to grow, be sure to place your plant on a window sill or purchase a grow lamp if it is not receiving enough sunlight.

Nutrients

Some of your plants may require additional nutrients during fall and winter.  You can simply repot these plants in a nutrient-rich soil which releases the nutrients over time.  Some soils are specially formulated for indoor plants which contain all of the necessary nutrients for your plants to survive inside.
